Priority #1: My Health

So this is the year I decided to get back to the Original me. I lost myself so many years ago, and it is very important to find myself again. I want to get back to my original size, energy levels, and attention to detail, and that zest for life.  Something really terrible happened to my family almost 18 years ago, and I have been in a rut for that long. It is mind-boggling that I have not moved on. When something tragic happens, the world stands still for you while the rest of the world continues to function in a normal manner. I am so angry with myself. I have wasted those valuable years.

As most of you know, I am a black and white kind of girl. You know – the all or nothing kind of girl. I am going to change that. I want to find a happy place in the middle. So join me on your journey to health and wellness.


Healthy Lifestyle List

  1. Lead a healthy lifestyle
    1. think, eat and breath healthy
  2. Make sure I am healthy
    1. Schedule an appointment with my family doctor
    2. Review medications with my doctor
    3. Make a list of my ailments that I have forgotten to tell mention during previous visits
    4. Schedule an appointment with my dentist
  3. Start a Healthy Eating Plan
    1. Plan my meals and shopping lists in advance
    2. Make an effort to eat out less often. Will save outings for birthdays, anniversaries and other special events
    3. Track my eating with an online app so I can share the information with my doctor. ( Will be using both WeightWatchers and MyFitnessPal to see which I like best)
  4. Working out
    1. Plan a workout schedule
    2. Track my workouts on an app (MyFitnessPal unless I find a better one)
  5. Sleep
    1. Try to fall asleep prior to 1:00am
    2. Do not take the laptop to bed
    3. Start reading an actual book so I am not tempted by my technology
