Fall has officially arrived. And that means it’s time to get out in the yard and start getting your home ready for the season, and the coming winter. It may look like there’s a lot of work to do, but with a little help from Canadian Tire, you’ll be ready in no time.
There are 4 areas or your home you’ll want to get ready. Last post we looked at Lawn & Garden care and in this post we’re talking about Home Maintenance.
Here are two great checklists to help you get your roof and eavestroughs ready for the ice and snow of winter:
And don’t forget about your windows. Cracks can let cold air in, and the warm air escape, making your home less energy efficient.
If you’ve got a deck, you’ll also want to do a little maintenance on it, to help prevent decay, splintering, and cracks. All the freezing and melting of snow and ice can make little problems worse, creating more work in the spring to repair the damage.

November 5, 2015 at 10:45 pm (8 years ago)Thank you for the checklists. Our roof is in pretty good shape for the winter but I need to make sure the eavestroughs are fitting correctly. Do you clear them of debris just before the snow starts or do you check it throughout the season? I also like the tip to get my deck checked out before it gets too cold.
