McHappy Day® is May 2 2012 and truth is, up until now I never really knew what that the $0.10 from every happy meal was being donated to. I have been fortunate in my life and my three children’s to have never gotten sick or hurt. I’ve taken the kids to the hospital for viral infections and other small things, but never a serious matter. So I decided to read up on this amazing program and learn all about the magic they create when they help families.
- I learned that its more than just a place to stay, Ronald McDonald House gives families a sense of their nurturing comfortable home. It becomes the family’s home away from home.
- Despite the sadness during this time, Ronald McDonald House gives the families emotional support and guidance to be strong and feel loved.
- Ronald McDonald House allows families to connect and bond with each other during that difficult time in their lives.
- The staff at Ronald McDonald House treat you like family, support you and give you strength to carry on with the day and keep you in a positive atmosphere.
On Wednesday May 2, 2012 go into your local McDonalds restaurant and participate in McHappy Day® because $1 from every Big Mac®, Happy Meal®, Premium Roast Coffee and Premium Tea sold to will be donated to local charities like Ronald McDonald House.
It’s the little things that make a difference, and I often don’t find myself making those efforts. So I will be there in Vaughan, at my local McDonalds eating dinner with my family and I will explain to my children why we are eating here on this day is special, and how important helping others is. If you are unable to make it to your local McDonalds, please feel free to show your McHappy Day support all year long by texting MCHAPPY to 30333 to make a $5 donation* to RMHC of Canada and by “Liking” McDonald’s Canada on Facebook ( http://www.facebook.com/McDonaldsCanada ). To receive McHappy Day updates from across the country, Canadians are encouraged to follow McDonald’s Canada on Twitter ( http://www.twitter.com/McD_Canada ).
