I have a Burger Personality

Posted on July 28, 2012 by Ashley

I’m not really a fan of meat.  Something about the texture and denseness of most meats leaves me feeling a little “blah”.  I understand the purpose of meat, I live with a HUGE meat lover (hello Corey and his 42 oz steak (ok so maybe that’s a little exaggeration)) and I know how fundamental protein is both for the development of my children’s bodies but for the structure and condition of my own muscles – I also know other sources of the key nutrient.  From time to time I’ve considered becoming a vegetarian, but every time one thing stops me.  One really important fact that makes me truly Canadian holds me back – my intense love of the hamburger.

There is nothing like the smell of the grill at a backyard bbq on a hot summer day.  Plates full of toppings covering my table and the ritualistic act of building the perfect burger.  Everyone has a “perfect burger”, it’s the one burger that makes their mouth water long before it’s ever made, it’s their staple, their favourite, their “Burger Personality” if you will.  Sure, you might try other burgers, you might go out side of the box from time to time, but just like your favourite sweater you always come back to the comfort of your perfect burger.

Are you ready to find out MY Burger Personality?  If you’ve been around these parts for a while or know me in real life then this won’t be a surprise to you at all, but my Burger Personality is the…

The Naturalist

I love my burger cooked well done, with a little mayo, mustard, lots of tomatoes, pickles, lettuce and a little grated cheddar (I’ll take sliced if I have to).  Put it on a whole wheat bun and serve with a HUGE glass of ice water and you have one very happy girl!

So, how about you?  Leave me a comment and let me know, what’s your Burger Personality?
