At the start of the month I am going to start writing about the things I am looking forward to during the month. Not everything- just things I feel like sharing. I have selected 6 things I am going to share with you. I hope you enjoy!

February 2021 List

  1. RRSP Season
  2. Galentine’s Day
  3. Valentine’s Day
  4. Family Day (Canada, in Ontario)
  5. Random Acts of Kindness Day
  6. National Margarita Day

RRSP Season

I grew up with RRSPs. It is a generational thing. February has always meant I need to make sure that I invest in an RRSP before the deadline which typically occurs the final day of February or the first few days of March. This year the RRSP contribution deadline is March 1, 2021

Galentine’s Day

The female friendships we so heavily rely on are celebrated each year on Galentine’s Day on February 13. Originating from the popular TV show ‘Parks and Recreation,’ the holiday is all about declaring love and affection to the girls who make up our support system. Go Girl Power. What a great way to celebrate our female friendships!

Valentine’s Day

I love hearts, and love love. Single or not, this is one of my favourite holidays. It is another day I can celebrate my love to my “Sweet Love of all Time” (#sloat). He is the best. It is also his birthday. How perfect for me. My man is a “Valentine. I also love cinnamon hearts. I love the colour pink. I love sending cards, and creating images with hearts on them. I should’ve been born on Valentine’s Day. How about you?

Family Day

The province of Ontario has nine public holidays, and Family Day is one of them. It occurs on the third Monday in February. A great day to spend with the family. I am going to try and spend my time with my family. I will TRY not to catch up on my work.

During the Ontario provincial election in 2007, Dalton McGuinty, of the Liberal Party, promised that, if re-elected premier, he would establish a provincial holiday in February. On October 12, 2007, the provincial government established Family Day on the third Monday in February, to be first observed on February 18, 2008.

Random Acts of Kindness Day

Random Acts of Kindness Day. This is probably more important than ever in 2021. There are so many people who need help so I am going to make an effort to do all that I can on this day.

National Margarita Day

I love Margaritas, so I am to be celebrating. I like a lime maragrita with salt. YUM. I also like them frozen too. They are delish with or without tequila. Will you be celebrating with me?

Well that’s it for now. I hope that everyone has a wonderful February and that you remain healthy and COVID-19 free!
