A coffee maker is my top pick for items you need if you are going away to school. I really don’t know anyone who can just drink instant coffee. I used to be one of those people until I started to appreciate coffee brewed from a coffee maker. There are different types of coffee makers to choose from. Canadian Tire has put together a great video to help you select your ideal coffee maker. However, I have also added 3 of my favourites.

KitchenAid

For those who want something extra special, the KitchenAid Pour Over Coffee maker would be the perfect choice. It delivers full flavoured craft coffee with the automated convenience of a standard coffee maker. But that’s where the similarity ends. Drip machines continuously flood the brew basket thus diluting the flavour. This machine precisely heats and pulses the flow of water, steeping in the same manner as the manual pour over process, letting the grounds bloom. The results – often described as clean and fruity – allow you to taste all the complex layers of the coffee.
